Taku Furukawa: BEAUTIFUL PLANET
Katsu Kanai, The Deserted Archipelago, 1969
This November, we are delighted to present BEAUTIFUL PLANET, a work by legendary animator Taku Furukawa.
In this animation, children transform into planets, drifting through space and orbiting the Earth. The film was produced using the "Scanimate" system and commissioned by the Japan Committee for UNICEF. It was selected for the 7th Annecy International Animation Film Festival (1973) and featured as an invited work at the Lucca Animation & Comics Festival (1976).
The program will continue throughout November. At the end of the month, a paid program ($3) of Furukawa’s works will also be available.
THE PROGRAM WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING ON CCJ’S VIEWING PLATFORM.
